Reading Endorsement Information

Former Governor Bush believed that reading is the most powerful skill a child can learn, as it influences success in school and improves the overall quality of life. The unequivocal goal is for all students in Florida to be able to read on grade level or higher throughout their school years by 2012. With this aim, the Florida Reading Endorsement was designed to increase instructional capacity for high quality reading instruction at both the elementary and the secondary levels. Through the endorsement courses, teachers will be empowered with the necessary skills to teach reading effectively and help all students achieve reading success at or above grade level by 2012.
