quality professional development services and support to Florida educators in effective
reading instruction through its online course, expert staff, quality resources, and other professional development services. FOR-PD is Florida's first online large-scale professional development project that supports pre-K through
12 grade teachers' knowledge about scientifically based reading research
and
instruction. FOR-PD is dedicated to providing excellent services, support, and
products to Florida's teachers and improving reading instruction for all Florida
students.

Registration for the Spring 2010 FOR-PD course will be open from November 2, 2009 through December 18, 2009.

2009 National Distance Learning Week (NDLW)

Florida Launches New Multimedia Web Site

The FL DOE recently launched its new iTunes U site, providing free multimedia content to schools, parents, administrators and teachers both in Florida and around the world.
"I started this course knowing very little about the components of reading. I now have quite a bit more knowledge and the ability to implement various strategies for my students (struggling or not)."
National Day On Writing

October 20 is the National Day on Writing! A Web cast of the national event will air live from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST, on Tuesday, October 20. You can also earn more about submitting your writing and about starting a gallery.
