Families Building Better Readers, developed by Dr. Angela Martin for the Florida Department of Education, was first offered in the summer of 2003. Since then, schools throughout Florida have requested FBBR presentations for families and students. FBBR continues to be funded by Just Read, Florida!

Just Read, Families! is a summer reading program which provides parents with information about actively reading with their children during the summer months. Included on this site are links to recommended reading lists for each of the Florida school districts, ideas for parents, and a kids' page.
Practitioners' Task Force on Family Literacy

The Practitioners' Task Force on Family Literacy is authorized by the Florida Department of Education, Division of Community Colleges and Workforce Education and funded through a State Leadership grant. The task force is comprised of practitioners from school districts, community colleges, corrections, libraries, volunteer literacy groups, community-based organizations and other local and state agencies.
