Reading Strategies

In our continuing effort to provide additional support to our teachers across the state, FOR-PD has established a Reading Strategy of the Month for educators to use. Each month FOR-PD features a different reading strategy. The research-base for the strategy is explained, directions on how to use the strategy are provided, ideas for adapting the strategy are explained, assessment tips are shared, and examples are provided from elementary and secondary levels. Check out our monthly strategies and share them with your colleagues. Let us know if you use them and how you use them. Email us at forpd@mail.ucf.edu - subject heading FOR-PD Reading Strategies.

Reading Reminders

The FOR-PD Reading Reminders summarize the key points within each lesson of the FOR-PD course. The Reading Reminders can be used in the classroom, in staff development meetings, as well as quick summaries of research on the thirteen-literacy topics within the course.

FOR-PD Literacy Blog

This blog is provided to all those interested in literacy and literacy research. During each week our project will post ideas, news, and follow-up for the lessons provided within the FOR-PD course.

Chat Transcripts

FOR-PD offers monthly chats on topics ranging from using the technology in the course to timely reading issues that impact teachers. Each chat is recorded and posted to this web site for public viewing.

Audio Interviews

The FOR-PD Project actively seeks interviews with literacy experts across the country on topics related to the course. Each interview is then posted to our web site as a means of literacy support for participants and teachers across the state. Interviews are provided in both text and audio formats.
